How to Stop Drinking

Have you ever wondered if alcoholism is heritable? I would say things like my grandfather was an alcoholic and I also have three uncles who are alcoholics plus my mother could be also.

I would say things like I inherited it from them and it's a disease I was born with and there is nothing I can do to change it.

What a crock of B S that was. It really does not matter whether it is heritable or not only thing that matters is recognizing that I have a problem. The next question is what do you want to do about your drinking problem.

Here is how to stop drinking. Number one is to cut loose of all your old drinking buddies. They will drag you down again and again if you let them.

You may find out the only reason they were your friends is that you supplied there drinks for them. A real friend would encourage you to stop drinking.

With that done now you can focus on what to do about your drinking problem. Find out where the AA meetings are in your area and make plans to attend one. This is the first step.

Next step is to commit to attending daily. What works well with AA is Drug Addiction Therapy. I would suggest you try that also. If you do these two things I bet you that you will stop drinking.
