Are you cross addicted? Stop drinking

Why is it when you go to an AA meeting people always say they are cross addicted. I like to joke with people who understand that they must be selling a lot of crosses because there are a lot of people who think they are cross addicted.

I feel like giving them an NA book to read. I have taken the time to explain to a couple people what addiction means and that alcohol is a drug. I don’t to much bother at do it at meetings I just hope that they will get it one day.

I also see a lot of people in AA who come back from a relapse and they come clean so to speak but here is the catch they also say they are still smoking weed. They have not stopped using all they have done is just masked there alcoholism with pot. A question they may want to ask themselves would be am I an alcoholic?

All I can do is pray for these people too. If you want to stop drinking you must abstain from all mind and mood altering substances!

I would suggest that if this sounds like you and you really want to be free from addiction and learn how to stop drinking that you contact your sponsor and let them know exactly what you are doing. Hopefully they are not on the marijuana maintenance program too.

I would also recommend that you recommit yourself to AA and do another ninety meetings in ninety days or if you have not ever done this now is your chance. In any case you must take action but above all stop smoking blunts.

Dilaudid addiction

Ever wonder how some people bounce back and forth between a dilaudid addiction and heroin addiction?

I have yet to figure this out I mean one is just as bad as the other in fact studies show that dilaudid is like 5 times stronger than heroin.

Therefore a lot of folks end up with a dilaudid Addiction but this is not so uncommon. I see people almost every day with one type of drug problem or another when its all said and done its all the same addiction is just that addiction.

Dilaudid was invented around 1926 after heroin was removed from the market and you can just about bet that people have been suffering from dilaudid addiction ever since.

If you want to stop using dilaudid try to taper yourself off of them. If this does not work go to rehab and there you can go thorough dilaudid withdrawal comfortably.

I say this because I have been there and done that. If you do stop using dilaudid when you get out of rehab or what ever you will have to take action if you want to remain clean.

Action will consist of strengthening your mind, body, and spirit. How do I do that you may ask? It is really quite simple.

First of all you can strengthen the mind by going to meetings and reading recovery literature. The body needs plenty of exercise so make plans to go for a long walk each day.

Lastly the your spirit needs fed you can do this with meditation or by going to church choose your own way. I will say this again recovery is not so hard but taking the action sometimes is a challenge especically when it comes to dilaudid.

Heroin withdrawal

I have known a lot of alcoholics who also have had a heroin addiction. When they decide to quit using they will have to deal with both.

The withdrawal from both will be bad the heroin Withdrawal will not kill you unless your health is extremely poor.

On the other hand withdrawal from alcohol can be very dangerous and one may need a medical detox.

I was the type of addict that decided I would stop using which ever one was causing the most problems at the time.

I can tell you that from my experience this did not work too well. If I did manage to beat the heroin withdrawal the bottom line is that I continued to drink alcohol. If one decides to stop using one they must stop using the other.

If you must keep switching back and forth then sooner or later you will figure it out that this does not work. Good luck and remember above all do not give up keep trying.

Heroin Detox

For any person who has used heroin for any length of time they have some type of understanding that heroin addiction is a hard way to go.

The reason this is so relevant is that if you wish to detox from heroin you will have to think about the kind of detox you want to do. For more info on heroin Detox.

If you detox for heroin you may want to go with the heroin rapid detox. This is where they use anesthesia to make you unconscious while they remove the opiates from your system.

I have never personally tried this but I have heard that it is painless and you don't remember even going through heroin withdrawal.

I have kicked heroin cold turkey and I have went to rehab several times to rehab to detox for heroin and for the most part it was painless.
